Summer 2009

Summer will be behind us in just 2 days. Fall is always my favorite season. Ted and I got married in the fall 31 years ago. We are now preparing for Justin & Robin's wedding on Nov. 7, 2009. It should be a beautiful ceremony and all of Ted's brothers and sisters will be here! And my sister, Cheri and niece Jennifer. Mom and Dad will be here too! Dad turns 80 on 10/16 and we will be going to celebrate with him on the 17th. We did take a vacation to the Smokey's this summer. Was a great time. And this old man and woman hiked to Rainbow Falls - 5 .5 miles round trip. Took us 6 hours and needless to say we did not do anything the next day but lay in the hot tub and read!

OVERDUE

Yes, I know, it's been awhile. Spring has sprung in the Tarheel State. Since my last post Aiden has celebrated his 1st Birthday, Easter has come and gone and we have been to Ohio and celebrated Emily and Matt's marriage.Aiden's 1st birthday party was great and he had no problems eating his cake! On Easter Sunday Justin, Robin and Aiden came to celebrate and Phillip introduced us to Ruth. We had a wonderful day. Ted and I hid Easter eggs for Aiden. He found 1 egg and and then was off to play in the rocks! We had a great family day. Ted and I just purchased a Wii so we all had a great time bowling and playing baseball!

Emily and Matt's wedding was so much fun! It was a whirlwind of a weekend.
Thanks again Mom and Dad for lending us the van. Makes the trip much easier and Robin and I love the DVD player. Aiden and I watched his Sesame Street Video.

We left on Thursday and traveled to Cheri's house. Aiden had a hard time keeping his balance walking on those hills of South East Ohio. He loved throwing the ball for Tux.

On Friday we got up and traveled to the Farm on Jackson Rd. It was beautiful in Ohio. The tulips and lilacs were blooming. We stopped in Springs and ate at Peaches. Bobbie, Alan, Helen and Sara joined us. Friday night was spent @ Barb and Kub's house. Kathy Mark, Kate and Bart arrived around 7:00pm. Lots of family there and we had a great cookout and visit.

On Saturday morning we all went to the Clifton Mill and had breakfast. Food was great and afterwards we went for a walk in the gorge.

After our walk in the Gorge it was back to get packed up and head to Columbus for Emily and Matt's wededing. On the way we got a flat on the van, so we had to stop in Springfield to get it changed. So when we got to the hotel it was time to get all of us cleaned up and dressed up for the wedding.

The wedding was at The Darby House in Galloway, Ohio. What a fabulous setting and such a beautiful day. Emily and Matt are so in love! It so nice to see her so happy! I cried alot. It was such a Happy Day! The reception was held right there at the Darby House. Great fun and alot of dancing! Ted and I wish you the best Emily and Matt!

On Sunday on the way home from Columbus we had another flat tire and had to have that changed. Our tire luck has not been very good lately! We stopped @ Young's to have some ice cream, visit the goats and cows and to sit on the tractor.

After Ice Cream we went for a walk in the Glen to visit the Yellow Springs. That evening we had pizza @ Barb and Kub's and got to visit with Tony, Judy and Kristen. On Monday it was a long drive home.

What a great travelor Aiden is. He stayed in a different place each night we were there. And he just rolled on............

Winter-BRRRRR!

Today was the second time this winter that NC saw snow. Today was just a short burst of snow but like a "Blizzard" for about 1/2 hour! But the "Big snow" was on Jan. 20. So now I am done with winter and will be happy to see it warm up and stay warm. This Saturday it will be 70. Crazy NC weather.

Bailey, she not a fan of cold weather either

She's trying to hide her ball in the snow!

Aiden is growing like a weed and is such a happy soul. He is walking now. Does better when he does not think about it! And busy, always moving, in fact Robin says he will not even sit in the highchair and eat. He changes and learns new things everyday. Ted and I see him about once a week and each time he is doing something new.

STAY WARM!

Merry Christmas

We had Christmas with the boys and Robin on Christmas Eve. It was alot of fun! Aiden, of course, liked the boxes and paper more then the presents! I have a set of "Jingle Bells" that hangs from my living room fan. He has loved that all season so I bought him some "Jingle Bells" and that was his favorite present!

So Proud!

Phillip graduated last night from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Ted and I are so proud! Once there was a scrawny little guy running around, always acting up in school! Now he has graduated from college! It was a very nice intimate graduation ceremony for his college, Health and Applied Science. We got to met Dr. John Bennett, whom helped guide and inspire Phillip. I think he was just as proud as we were. Dr. Bennett surfs with Phillip @ Wrightsville Beach. Afterwards we went to Olympia Resturant ,( Phillip has worked here off an on throughout his college career), and had a wonderful dinner. Charles, Phillip's best friend from high school, was our waiter, and later Vale, Phillip's room mate joined us. Now that he has graduated, Phillip will subsitiute teach and expand his boat detailing business in Wrightsville Beach, which has done very good for the first year. He would like to return next fall to the school, that he student taught at in Wilmington. Either as a Phys. Ed. Teacher or a Spanish Teacher. He does has other schools interested in him as a Spanish Teacher. I know that he would like to stay in the Elementary school level. He likes teaching the younger kids. Time will tell, but wherever he teaches in will be in Southeastern North Carolina, close to the ocean so that he can surf! So Proud!
